Jaime Scranton, MSW, LCSW
Therapist
Hello — I’m Jaime Scranton, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy both in person at our Bolingbrook office and through online/virtual therapy across Illinois. I’ve been serving individuals and families in this region for more than 20 years, and I’m proud to be a lifelong resident of Bolingbrook.
Before I became a therapist, I worked as a school social worker, supporting children, adolescents, and families in educational settings. That work grounded me in practical, real-world supports for emotional well-being and helped me develop a deep appreciation for the resilience and adaptability people demonstrate in challenging times. I bring that same approach — empathetic, evidence-based, and strengths-centered — to my clinical work today.

My Approach to Therapy
When you begin therapy with me — whether in person or through online therapy — my goal is to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and collaborative. Therapy isn’t about judgment or perfection; it’s about understanding patterns, exploring emotions, and building skills that help you live more intentionally and comfortably in your own life.
My approach is grounded in clinical best practices, with a focus on helping clients gain insight into their thoughts and behaviors while also building tools for daily living. I use evidence-based methods tailored to each person’s needs, so therapy feels both relevant and effective.
Specialization in OCD and ERP
One of my specialized areas of practice is obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — a highly effective, research-supported form of therapy — to help clients reduce distress related to obsessions and compulsive behaviors.
ERP can be challenging, but it’s also empowering. Together, we work to understand your specific triggers and build confidence in your ability to face them with support. I focus on pacing, collaboration, and compassionate coaching so that you feel supported throughout the process.
Who I Work With
Clients I support often come to therapy feeling:
- Overwhelmed by anxiety or persistent worry
- Stuck in cycles of thought or behavior that feel hard to change
- Disappointed or disconnected due to depression
- Frustrated by repetitive behaviors that impact daily life
Whether you’re navigating a specific diagnosis like OCD or working through broader life stresses, I’m here to help you develop the awareness and strategies that support lasting, meaningful change.
In-Person & Online Therapy
I provide in-person therapy in Bolingbrook as well as virtual therapy throughout Illinois. My goal as a virtual therapist is to ensure that online therapy feels just as attentive, safe, and productive as in-office work. Virtual therapy expands access and flexibility, making it easier for you to engage in consistent care even with a busy schedule or changing needs.
Whether we meet in person or virtually, my focus remains on building a strong therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
My Philosophy
I believe that therapy is a space for exploration, understanding, and empowerment. Healing and growth are not linear — they’re about learning how to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience. My role as a therapist is to walk alongside you through that process with empathy, insight, and unwavering support.
If you’re seeking a therapist in Bolingbrook or a virtual therapist in Illinois who is experienced, compassionate, and deeply committed to evidence-based care — especially around OCD and anxiety — I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
Therapy is a journey — and you don’t have to take it alone.
