Therapist
Hello — I’m Allison Fordyce, and I provide therapy both in person at our Bolingbrook office and through secure online/virtual therapy sessions across Illinois. I work with adults through individual counseling and support clients navigating anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, and personal growth.
My clinical style is collaborative, approachable, and mindfulness-based. My Approach to Therapy
When you begin therapy with me — whether in person or through online therapy — my goal is to create a space that feels safe, respectful, collaborative, and growth-oriented. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and I strive to ensure clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
My approach is personalized and tailored to each individual client. Therapy is most effective when we work together to identify your goals, better understand your experiences, and build strategies that support lasting growth and healing. Some clients benefit from structured coping skills and practical tools, while others benefit from reflection, exploration, and emotional processing. Many clients find value in a combination of both.
I believe productive therapeutic relationships are built on trust, authenticity, compassion, and collaboration. My role is to meet clients where they are without judgment while helping them move toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and emotional wellness.
Who I Work With
I primarily work with adults across a variety of life stages and experiences, including:
- Young adults navigating independence, academic pressure, identity development, and major life changes
- Adults adjusting to career changes, relationship transitions, or future planning concerns • Individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or emotional overwhelm • Clients exploring identity, self-esteem, and personal growth
- Individuals processing difficult or traumatic experiences
- Clients navigating family relationship dynamics, communication concerns, or peer relationship challenges
I especially enjoy supporting clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves and are looking for a supportive space to grow, heal, and move forward.

In-Person & Online Therapy
I provide in-person therapy in Bolingbrook and virtual therapy throughout Illinois. Online therapy offers flexibility and accessibility for clients balancing school, work, family responsibilities, or transportation limitations.
Whether we meet in person or virtually, I focus on creating a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported, connected, and empowered throughout their therapy journey.
Online therapy can be just as meaningful, engaging, and effective as in-person counseling while offering additional convenience and accessibility.
My Philosophy
I believe therapy is a collaborative process where clients can safely explore their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences while building greater self-understanding and resilience. Creating a space where clients feel accepted, supported, and empowered to grow is central to my approach.
Change and healing take time, reflection, and support. Therapy is not about perfection — it’s about creating sustainable growth, flexibility, and self-compassion in a way that feels authentic and accessible to you.
